The Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina are full of singers, musicians, storytellers, and old-fashioned preachers that carry on the old time traditions. It's a part of life here in the mountains. Covered dish dinners on the ground and front porch pickin’ until late hours of the night was a normal thing among neighbors and friends. No matter who you’d go to visit, you always carried along your instrument just in case someone may want to pick or sing. Those days seem seem like just a memory to some and something that you’d read about in a novel but hey actually happen though. Doug’s childhood was full of memories just like those in the South Mountains. Doug discovered his love for music inside a small wood white washed church.
Those days may be behind us now but Doug’s style of Appalachian Music still rings with those old fashioned traditions. Doug has a unique way of delivering the music that he performs that will make you think you have taken a trip back in time.
Beyond his music, Doug also shares his faith, stories, encouragement, and life lessons through his weekly “Grace On The Journey” podcast on YouTube, connecting with listeners through heartfelt conversations and messages of hope, grace, and faith along life’s journey.
